Waiting for hero to save you?

Updated: Mar 18

Ever feel like you’re waiting for a hero to save you…

To pluck you from obscurity…

Give you your big break…

“FINALLY, I’M SEEN!”

This resonated with me for the longest of times…still does a bit.

From swimming at my local club as a kid, go-karting as a teen, to working in legal sales in my 20’s….whatever I did, I prayed someone would ‘spot’ me ‘save’ me, and hand me everything.

When I began my journey to becoming a coach I spent 18 months studying the world's top performers, stars and outliers from the business world to sports and showbiz.

As I dug beneath the surface of even the brightest stars, one thing became clear..

NO ONE gets discovered and plucked.

NO ONE!

Somewhere along the way I realised I was looking to discover myself.

For years I was desperate to discover what I’m capable of when I connect with my authentic self, let go of self judgement and showcase ALL my gifts to the world.

The moment I started stepping outside my comfort zone, launched my podcast, posting on social media, founded my business and GOING FOR IT, the need to be saved dissipated.

Because I was discovering myself.

I was saving myself.

Here’s where I start to tell it like it is, so permission to bail on this newsletter now if you’re feeling fainthearted or are likely to be triggered….

If you feel like you’re waiting to be discovered or saved, here’s my questions for you….

When are you going to start saving yourself?

What is waiting to be realised?

What do you want to be saved from? How can you save yourself?

We all benefit from support from ambitious and inspiring mentors, friends, coaches, therapists and groups…but when it comes down to it….no one is coming to save you.

It’s always going to be down to YOU to do the work.

I say this from a place of deep admiration and love because if you’re reading this I know you are a high achiever, a lead, a game changer, ready to take your life and career to the next level

I believe in you.

I know from experience the seemingly impossible is possible and I have seen the impossible happen with so many people around me including those I work with.

Here are high achieving game changers and their stories to prove it,
